PUN, M.O.P. & Freeway rocked over different pieces of this one. Big Pun being the most notable. I think Muggs might have even taken the high note at beginning and pitched it up for an early 90's cypress Hill or house of pain joint.
@AVENTUS
Cool, I liked it... gotta be honest, I kinda missed the whole rap/hip-hop thing by just a couple of years (graduated high school in ‘85). I know some, and then all the alternative crossover “white bread” hip hop stuff like the beasties and beck and shit but that’s one of the very few areas of music I have yet to explore... and honestly, I like rhythm AND melody, and for me most rap didn’t/doesn’t provide that... anyway, not intended to offend at all! There’s always time..! I even got into Tibetan throatsinging for a bit a bunch of years ago so you never know.... :)
But by all means post whatever you want. I love it!
Edit: I do also love learning about the progression and evolution of all styles even if I’m not currently into it. Fascinated, in fact!
Honestly, while I like the rhythm and beat its a little too dark for this kid.
Did love no pussy blues tho, very sub culture. Reminds me of a scene from Repoman
I hear ya, most Nick Cave is pretty dark... I couldn’t/can’t get into the Bad Seeds but the 2 Grinderman releases have an energy that just grabs me... (sorry, I didn’t mean to post 2 vids of the same tune.)
hi temple will join in as soon as he feels better MS kicking him hard right now ,but he will be back ASAP but as his wife I am listing to cilla black lol Mrs temple ov truth rave on
The best, least known band of all time.
I will never get sick of their first two records. To me, Chilton & Bell could’ve been up there with Lennon & McCartney and Jagger & Richards... the unrealized potential is staggering.
Nice post! Never heard that one before... the first track I know from Herbie’s OG best of Blue Note release, which is fantastic. I know of many bands he was a sideman with at the time, just not this one. Psyched!
Original version:
Here’s an English dude I’ve been following for about 10 years or so since his early releases... kind of reminded me of a British Beck (Hansen) at the time minus the hip hop... Anyway, here’s his latest and what I think may be his best to date:
