I'm surprised I don't see this one mentioned more in the desktop vape category. I personally think it is the peak performance machine on the market, in a class all its own with the biogassification process. I cannot wait for the 3.0 generation to be back in stock. My 2.0 that I've used for a few years is up for sale if anyone wants to get started in the Sublimation world. PM me if interested, otherwise let's talk Sublimators!

    Sweet!

I've been using mine more again lately, I took it out for a couple of my recent live streams, it is certainly a beastly hitter.

So what's this you say about a new version?

I've been thinking about how the parts I have might be outdated, thx!

I've been thinking the same! They basically redesigned the heating elements and the stainless bases to occupy a much smaller footprint, and the new controllers can go up to a 3 hour shutoff timer instead of only 1 hour on the 2.0 controller. They've also developed a button valve that eliminates the need for a whole extra choke tier.

Head on over to the official http://sublimator.ca page and check out all the new stuff! Unfortunately they are having production issues as of this writing and have had nothing in stock for ages.

Yeah, but I think the first statement you made in your first Sub review was a hysterical classic...do you remember? "I think I want my money back" LOL

I understand that these things are vape beasts....but is it really harder hitting than the FP or the GS?

Without even knowing what those abbreviations refer to I'm going to say yes. If we equate our vapes to automobiles, the Sublimator is basically a 1,000+ Horsepower drag strip racer. It uses a huge amount of heat and a double atomizer system to absolutely blast a .2 of flower and / or a glob of concentrate in a couple seconds or less. What results is a "bio-gas" particle that is one stage of refinement further than simple vapor, and the finer gas particle both absorbs into the bloodstream quicker and ensures the least amount of waste of your medicine. I'm not aware of any other vape on the market that can match the Sublimator in any aspect of performance other than taste maybe, since the sub is still metal at the end of the day and that always makes a difference with flavor purity.

FP = flower pot and GS is Glass Symphony.

With all due respect, I personally think the “bio gas” is a marketing term. We are dealing with gaseous vapor here. Not being argumentative and many love the Sub but I’m not sold on this particular magic sauce. On the other hand, I have never used one so I may be talking out of my hat.

    Cheers

That's exactly it. There really is no better explanation than to experience it. The "bio-gas" thing definitely isn't a marketing ploy. The gas is noticeably thicker and denser than any other vape can produce due to its unique double refinement system. I looked up those other vapes in demo videos on YouTube, I can confidently say they are both outclassed by the Sublimator.

Well, I guess then that I would like to address my re-direct question, originally put to the @VapeCritic , to Bud as he is the only one of the three of us who has owned/used all of them:

Hey, Bud....any views on the Sub, GS, FP vapor comparison? Inquiring minds want to know! LOL
  • welshman

I can't directly compare them but I used the original adapt-a-kit sublimator and now own the FP showerhead (SiC WA is on the way) and to be honest, I haven't been able to re-produce the vapour density of the FP on anything else (even the evo doesn't quite do it for me). The concept behind the sublimator is really cool and I recently spent a lot of time reading the science but IRL, for me at least with the OG adaptakit I didn't notice a difference from conventional vapour. However this could have all changed with subsequent revisions so would be interested in an up to date comparison

I personally never got to try the OG Sub units. I got into them when the XLR 2.0 versions came out. With Herb it was cool because you could play with the temperature to put the herb right on the verge of combusting and the resulting vapor is as thick and as close to actually being smoke as is possible. For this reason I am surprised to hear you say you could never get the same vapor density from the Sub, mine is thick as smoke. Perhaps the XLR versions really are that much better. Either that or I just use mine at higher temperatures that others find too harsh. This is definitely NOT the machine for you if you mainly just want to low-temp taste your herb. This is for people that want the most aggressive vape design possible that can also double as a uniquely advanced dab rig.

I know....they probably still sell them.

Can you imagine if they could do penis enlargement as easy as breast implants. Every guy on the plant would have to throw it over their shoulder to be able to walk! haha

But he said it reminded you of "YOUR" penis pump....might want to take that up with the @Magicman

I want to know how he knows you have a penis pump.....you guys don't share it or anything? (jk)

"A hostile takeover is the acquisition of one company (called the target company) by another (called the acquirer) that is accomplished by going directly to the company's shareholders or fighting to replace management to get the acquisition approved."

    You should try a Elev8r with torch...and a coil.....then a flowerpot....then get back to us.....lol
  • Sublimator427

I've seen both, for me no contest on either. The Elev8r reminds me of a crackpipe and I doubt its durability. Not the kind of dabbing rig I'm after. The Flowerpot looks like a Whole Foods version of the Sub and not as strong.

I just sold my XLR 2.0 and the new owner is thrilled. Found a great deal on a torch powered titanium Sublimator "Eliminator" to replace it, can't wait to get it in the mail and see how it compares to the OG electric units!

I see...you like the way vapes look....and don't go by experience to compare with others?

But I also just stick to flower and only sometimes add kief.....so for me...these are the best I have tired.....have not tried a Sublimator or GS yet. But I would not mind trying anything different to compare performance.
  • Sublimator427

Not at all. The Sublimator already performs better than both honestly. I haven't seen either one making the same clouds. The looks were just a side joke. I'm mainly after the strongest dab, Sublimator is still #1 IMO

Wow I just saw that Twitter post. I figured something was going on with them as a company. I hope they weather the storm, their titanium "Eliminator" will be holding me over until then!

I see.....you have a very different race than me......haaaa Im going for the taste/performance end with flowers only. My old arse throat and lungs can not take too much power anymore after 37 years of it....I like the flowerpot and the Elev8r with coils because they are so smooth and easy to take....plus I can get that in short draws like 5 -7 seconds or less....but I also use lower temps.

You on the other hand my friend........are driving a different vehicle to a different dance. That's why it is always good to get an understanding of why a person likes something and it could be only for different use type.
  • Sublimator427
    21
The Sub is definitely not for the flower-only enthusiast, I basically had the most offensive one with the stainless steel Apollo lol. My friends would always tell me it was a distinctly "Sublimator" taste when using flower. We eventually stopped using that with it altogether and kept it clean for concentrates only; this tasted much better. I am looking forward to seeing how this new Titanium unit compares to my old stainless steel one on taste.
