Hello @PuffItUp , will you be releasing a tafee bowle teardown video? I notice you have them for some vapes but not others.

I'm wondering what voltage their battery is...

yes Bud opened his up but did not rip the proprietary battery pack apart to try and figure out what it was.. don't know how you could on visual inspection
  • v0id

I bet its printed on the battery somewhere :chin:

Why would it be?... it is proprietary.. the manufacturer knows what is underneath the black shrink wrap... they don't need a visual reminder and to the contrary they don't want people messing with it.

Based on the shape its either a LiPo or a 18500 in a square support structure. I'd guess LiPo, the structure would add to costs and manufacturing times, and the LiPo has built in overvolt protection and generally is a safer product. They also tend to be more customizable and can output more power and have a larger capacity than even a set of 2 18500's could -- plus they last longer if people charge them incompletely or for too long

Tafée themselves said that they limit the discharge capability to stop output once the battery is lowers to 30%, I bet this battery will last a long time.

it is LiPo... i messaged them a month or so ago and what they said

My tracking number says usps should deliver it by the end of the day. Nothing like a month shipping time!

I haven't put the cup part on yet but as a vape it's pretty damn tasty and I'm getting high off small amounts. Cool vapor. If you want a around the house vape this is awesome. He needs to get on the accessories for this thing and bring the cost way down on the cup part. $15 to $20 for plastic $30 for glass $35 for ceramic, all big sized.
I got the shortie. Vapor is very cool, the stem gets mildly warm by the time the pot is finished. All in all I think this is a good vape. As long as the accessory game is strong this could be influential. I'm very medicated off two pots. I'll be back when I'm more sober.

Putting ice water in cup cools the stem. Just let the cup sit on vape for like 5min with the ice water before first hit to cool soak the stem

Do you guys think a minivap (at its current price point) is still a valid competitor to the Bowle? I am thinking of returning the bowle and getting the minivap instead. I like the increased battery, modularity, etc.

The Bowlé gives that hit that you had to perform alchemy to obtain on the Ghost MV1. Flavor chasers will absolutely LOVE this vape. This has given me the absolutely BEST FLAVOR time after time without all the bullshittery. Push button flavor town. I had some blueberry cheesecake, and some guava jelly that was mouthwatering in this vape.
It also squeezes every drop out of the herb. I get higher off a smaller amount of herb. That's cool beans, man. That's my medicine.

On the vape side it's a mass production creme de la creme vape that even the most discerning will enjoy. Is it "THE ONE"? .....no.... But it's the best that we've got so far!

On to the cup... Does it hold water? Turns out it really does! Though when they offer glass instead of plastic, go for glass. The small bowlé isn't worth it unless you drink scotch or something similar in a small glass already, perhaps a white russian :nerd: . The short stem keeps the vapor very cool, don't worry about that, it's just that I would want a bigger cup.
Here is what made me think this cup idea might be pretty good after all. ~ I packed my first bowlé and poured a mango seltzer to compliment the guava jelly herb that I was going to vape. I brought it down to our movie room, and sat it in-between my wife and I. She looked at it quickly out of the corner of her eye. (She knew I was getting a cup vape) after a few minutes I took my first hit and exhaled. delicious.. then I took a big sip of water and put it down. I can see my wife looking right at me now and she pauses the tv and makes a point to tell me how cool she thought that just was. You see, One of the things that irritates me is when I'm outside on the grill making dinner ,and my wife comes home from work and complains that I'm vaping for all the neighbors to see. I can see, especially in the good weather when I'm outside with my wife around, how this is going to be my go to vape. So the fact that my wife (non-cannabis user) thinks it's cool and incognito makes it a good deal to me. Normal sized bottles and cans fit in the small cup with a little room, maybe enough for a paper towel as a protector for the cupé.
The Bowlé is screaming for accessories... Koozies, glass /ceramic cups, extended battery packs, herb jar and grinder holders. The possibilities are extensive...

Now there are some sore spots. The battery life needs to be double, or there needs to be true passthrough charging, maybe the ability to put it on a wireless charging pad? Either way this is me biggest point of meh. Next I'll cry about the pots... :smirk: call it MV1PTSD but I can see the stuff collecting in the corner of the screen and I'm already not looking forward to cleaning. I'll post an update when that's needs to be done. Next I'll talk about the little ball that snaps the mouthpiece into the puck. It's already showing wear... Give it 2 years maybe 1 and I'm wondering if it will still hold in there on its own. I see a lot of silicone bands being tossed around these in a few years to hold the stem into the puck. Oh, then we have the potter.... Sigh.... The first time there was bud all over the top of the pots... I guess I didn't hold it together tightly enough. The next time I did the method I saw Jerry do on the troy and jerry show. It worked but I had a nice little pile of keef under the pots when I took them out. Then there was too much static to get the keef out of there without it flying away. Meh. I don't like it at all. I'm going to put the potter back in the packagé.

Is it worth it as a vape? Yup!
Is it worth it as a vape/cup? Surprisingly, yes. But get the big cup if you don't usually drink from a small cup now. It will become a nuisance over time.

Over all I am Bowlé'd over and I love this little vape. It will definitely have a front position in my collection going forward. I am hoping I can get a pint glass/ceramic and long stem upgrade this year. That would be cool.
