• G43 by VapeCritic

G43 is so beautiful, so powerful, so easy to use vape, that there's not much you can say about it. It's idiot proof and anybody can hit it (if they have the balls to) and be very surprised by the results.

There's only one thing I kinda don't like and that's the heat up time. I get it, it's powerful and needs to soak the heat for some time to have that vaporization hotness. After that it's basically a symphony (not glass symphony :D ) of clouds, taste and medication.

I use it in my small rig, but sometimes there's a need for that awesome 18mm J-Hook, and that's maybe even more satisfying than the rig.

    G43 VAPORIZER QUICK START GUIDE

CLICK HERE to get added to the G43 wait list if you don't have one!

    9megc6nuoah230cl.jpg

These instructions apply to the Wismec P80 mod with MyEvic firmware installed. Please see the official G43 thread for user reviews and a ton of information on this vape.

Step 1) Connect components – Screw the RDA connector onto your Mod and connect the other end of the black wire to the heater wire.

Step 2) Load herb chamber – Pull out the basket screen to access the herb chamber, then load it 20% to 90% full loosely with ground up herb (any consistency). Then, to prepare for vaping, insert the G43 slide into any 18mm glass rig.

Step 3) Start the heater – If your Mod is locked, click the power button 5 times quickly to unlock. Adjust power level (watts) by pressing the two small + and – buttons (start at 11 watts). Press the power button briefly to engage the heater. When powered-on the LED lights on the side of the Mod will glow red continuously. After vaping, press the power button once to turn off the heater.

Step 4) Wait 3 minutes and start vaping – The G43 heater will take approximately 3 mins to reach the optimal temperature. Draw at a brisk pace for 5 to 10 seconds and pull the slide to act as a carb. Every two draws remove the basket screen and quickly stir your herb with the included pick tool to ensure even vaporization. Do not touch the middle part of the heater during use, it gets very hot!

Repeat until desired effect is achieved

  • G43 vs Flowerpot

Alright....I hesitate to post here because I'm sure to step in shit with someone....but I'm impulsive so here it is! haha

First, Bud ( @vapecritic and I are good personal friends and I strongly support ALL of his efforts to make and market a very simple but very good vaporizer. There is no mitigation in this statement, none at all, right?

So with that said, I do tend to agree that the comparison is not really valid given the differences in material, build, and cost.

IMO, they both are heavy hitters...VERY heavy hitters.

In my G43, with the new mod that Bud sent me (old one went bonkers and wasn't reading resistance correctly and hence ran a bit cold), I can run it with top shelf flower (last night was Captains Cake at 31%), a .2 g load (more or less), and get two house on fire rips, a stir, then a small clean up draw (that really isn't worth it but I'm also obsessive haha). To me, this is the def of heavy hitting, no doubt. I guess you can sip with it rather than rip, but why???? LOL

My Flower Pot Shower Head can rip a .1 - .2 g load in three draws with a stir and a clean up. If you draw slow enough you can really get it done in one or two draws. Def a heavy hitter also. No doubt.

The G43 is, as we all know, almost all glass with great taste, its inexpensive, and its simple...and Bud even wants it to be more simple with the battery slide version (a desire I agree with, by the by).

The main differences, IMO, are durability and cost. The G43 is home made (and many people love certain vapes for this artisan aspect) and made out of glass. I'm glad to dip mine in ISO to the screen level, but I'm NEVER going to take the damn thing apart, get all of the balls out, and clean it to that extent. So, to me...while I believe that my G43 will last quite a while this way, I do view it as an essentially consumable item. BUT, its $99 and I expect my G43 to last a lot longer than a lot of other Hunert' Dollr' vapes, right?

The FP is all precision machined Titanium, you would have to run it over with a tank to damage it, yeah...coils can go bad but they aren't expensive and I have some that have been working fine for a few years, and while NV is a "small business" they are in fact a bit more of an established company and hence CS, repair parts, etc are perhaps a bit more assured.

In my view, for $99 everybody ought to plan for a G43. You just can't get better vapor for anything like that price, anywhere...I believe.

But I also think that the FP (and the EVO frankly) is a the top tier professionally built desktop that will last you a lifetime, literally...but the cost is much higher and only the buyer can evaluate value vs cost as its so personal a judgement (this is where @economan needs to step in! haha).
  • G43 vs Flowerpot

Definitely can’t fairly compare the two...if you’re on the G43 list and your number isn’t too far away you’re destined for $140 max slice of heaven. If all you have is that $100 you’re gonna be in trouble trying to get a flowerpot. Also, if you’re not on the G43 list, then you really don’t have much of a choice....so nothing to compare.

Right now I use the G43 daily. Performance is excellent, thank god I have plenty of batteries. If you don’t have a few batteries at hand then you will likely hate the G43, unless you can wrap up your full session in 30-40 mins.

I am looking forward to a flowerpot in my future, but I think that for now the G43 will have to do, as the FP will also take up much more of my limited table space. I don’t think the G43 has any resistance at all. Perhaps the flowerpot has slightly less, but if Bud noted anything then it’s because he must have been absolutely shocked to find that ANY device had less resistance than the G. Seriously, it’s not noticeable in any way.
  • G43 by VapeCritic

So I was asked for in PM somewhere if the LB Elite was up to par with the G43 .

I haven’t tried the G43 , yet.. but I mean , I have no doubt the G43 gets the job done like a champ... but does or can the LB Elite get me higher or better efficiency from amount flower used or other factors, , a session vape vs more or less a on demand vape , lots of factors to take into consideration when not having tried one of the two vapes. Yes the LB Elite is a good vape , is it to par with G43 . I don’t know .

Are there still P80 mods available for the G43 @VapeCritic ? Or are we close to the unregulated version yet . Was thinking of selling a couple LB to try the Timber or Swuare HI but perhaps I could buy a G43 with it . My time, resources and efforts in making videos and answering people on forums might be more appreciated with Bud in the long term then it has been with Vapwood .

  • G43 Mods & Firmware

    @Ctipp22

Guys, you don't have to lock the ohms on the mod! Doing so is complete waste of time! Lol

We're not using temperature control mode for the G43 yet, only straight simple wattage mode. Locking the ohms is something you do when you want to use a special mode on the mod called Temperature Control, or TC.

In this mode, you preset the starting wattage you want the mod to fire the coil at to get it up to temperature quickly, and you also enter the temperature you want the coil to eventually remain at. The mod will start firing at the wattage you preset, but will quickly back the power off when the coil comes up to the temperature you preset. Then, it simply maintains enough continuous power to keep the coil at the preset temp, constantly adjusting itself.

Again, we don't use temperature control for the G43. Locking the ohms is a waste of time and neurotransmitters. The Splinter can use temp control; and indeed, Sneaky Pete has made videos showing his mod set to a specific temperature and TCR value, but the G43 is used in wattage mode only. The mod doesn't care what the resistance of the G43 is, it just puts out the wattage you select.

I have yet to try TC out with the G43, I don't know if it will work. You would have to measure the temperature of the coil directly, comparing it to the temperature you preset, and then simply adjust the TCR value used until the temperatures match.
  • G43 Mods & Firmware

The G43 vaporizer needs to be connected to a mod controller for power, and the mod needs a custom firmware installed on it that adds an "auto-fire" feature.

    ★ COMPATIBLE MODS ★

These mods have been tested by me personally with the G43 and work great:

    • Wismec Sinuous P80 (single 18650)
    • Wismec Reuleaux RX3 GEN3 Dual (dual 18650)

Here's a list of other mods that have been tested by real end users and have been reported to work properly (help me expand this list!):

    • Joyetech eVic Primo Mini
    • Joyetech eVic VTC Dual
    • Wismec Reuleaux RX2 21700

    ★ RECOMMENDED BATTERIES ★

The 18650 batteries listed below have a 3000mAh capacity and work great with the G43 setup:

IMRBatteries is a good store that I've purchased batteries and chargers from multiple times. If you need an external 18650 charger I recommend the Q2 and Q4 models from the brand Nitecore.

    ★ COMPATIBLE FIRMWARE ★

The custom firmware we are using is called myevic and you can download it by clicking here.

Wismec and Joyetech are the main brands of mods that are compatible, and here are the links to download their software used to install the firmware:

    https://www.wismec.com/software/
    https://www.joyetech.com/mvr-software/

I've also done a lot of testing with the Tubo Evic firmware, which is another one that adds a "cruise" mode, but I did this testing on a different mod because it's not compatible with the P80.

★ HOW TO INSTALL FIRMWARE ★

    1) Plug micro-USB cable into the mod and a USB port on the back of your PC.

    2) Open the Wismec or Joyetech updater software that you downloaded.

    3) Click on "Update" and select the myevic.bin file that you downloaded.

    4) Wait for software to confirm that the update is complete, then you can disconnect the mod from your computer and you're good to go.

    ★ HOW TO ENABLE AUTO-FIRE ★

    1) Open main menu by pushing the power button and + button at same time

    2) Go to Vaping menu

    3) Scroll down to "AutoFi" and toggle it ON

    4) Set "ATime" to infinity

To engage cruise mode simply press the power button for a quick moment and then release, the power should now stay on until you hit the main button again :ok:

    ★ OTHER SETTINGS ★

    To enable 0.1 watt adjustments:

    1) Open main menu by pushing the power button and + button at same time

    2) Go to Interface menu

    3) Toggle OFF the "1Watt" setting

To enable stealth mode if you get the "device hot" error:

Hold down the power button and the - button at the same time for one second. This will turn off the screen but still allow full functionality of the mod.

To raise temp sensor if you get the "device hot" error:

Open menu, click on Expert, click on MAX, raise value to 99ºc (210ºf).

If you still get any errors on your mod try reinstalling the latest firmware again, this has worked for a few people to fix the issue.

★ HOW TO START VAPING ★

    1) Start with the mod set at 11 watts and engage auto-fire.

    2) Wait 3 minutes for it to heat-up, in the meantime carefully load the herb chamber 80% full.

    3) Insert the loaded slide into your glass rig.

    4) Inhale at a brisk pace for as long as you comfortably can, pulling out the slide at the end of your draw to clear the vapor in your rig.

    5) Every 2 draws take off the basket screen and stir your herb with included pick tool.

    6) Repeat taking draws and stirring until your herb is spent, you'll know when.

  • G43 Mods & Firmware

    @BobCat

By using the custom myevic firmware, you ARE in expert mode whether you enter the "expert" menu or not!

The end user is responsible for discharging the cells below 3.2v, and this means that @VapeCritic is also somewhat responsible for shipping out customized firmware, thereby overriding the Wismec FACTORY DEFAULTS to cut off at 3.2v. This is not a matter of paranoia or personal judgement, and I really don't care what your personal opinion is on the matter.

I am only concerned for Bud (legal implications) and his new G43 customers, who know absoulutely nothing about vaping or mods. They have no idea they are running custom software which is overriding not only the 15 second cutoff for vaping, which is what the mod is designed to do, but it is also overriding the 3.2v cutoff, which is simply a case of a bad judgement call on the part of the firmware author, who is just one person, and a hacker at that! Bud should be just setting the new mods up the way mine is; discharging to 3.4v. I don't understand why you guys are so hell bent on squeezing an extra .1 or . 3 volts out of the battery in the first place!

Better to be safe than sorry here; this is a LEGAL and SAFETY issue and is not a place for paranoia or opinion. For Bud and Hazel's sake, and for the welfare of all G43 owners, past, present and future; we should try and make sure this minor setting change is tested and applied. It's only a couple of regulatory settings, and the mod will still deliver up to 15 watts with no problem. I tested it and the ending voltage after the settings I proposed is 3.4v. Better for the battery, better for Bud's family, and better for G43 users; at only a slight difference in ending voltage.

What's the big deal here anyway? Having to recharge 30 seconds earlier? LOL!!!

“We need to get a good soft case for the j hook made out of neoprene or something. Just zip up the hook with the G43 and go wherever. Case could have strap to hang around your neck too.

Essentially I’m envisioning a water bottle soft case with the strap made especially for the G for on the go like your walk! You think that kind of case and sling would work?”

right?! I bet you there’s something like that out there. I’m going to check around.

  • G43 by VapeCritic

I currently own two of these bad boys, and here are my thoughts from my own personal usage.

TL;DR - The G43 is an absolute powerhouse portable(ish) vape, and IMO stands alone due to it's price/features. It can be hit a number of ways, with your material in just about any state. It does require a rig (or j-hook) to operate. If you want the power of a desktop that is still technically portable, you need one (or several) of these in your life.

Vapor quality - Phenomenal. Top tier flavor that I would rate as equal to (or better than) my Evo, for comparison. Your cooling method of choice is really the only thing (imo) that will change your vapor quality for this vape. This should be obvious, as there is no native airpath past the glass joint and requires a rig or j-hook of some kind to use.
    Grade : A

Design - I think this has been knocked out of the park. It's extremely bare-bones, but that is part of the appeal. It's very unique looking, and I get a LOT of questions about it from folks who have never seen it before. It's got a massive chamber too! There are a couple of tweaks I'd do based on my usage, but it's very well thought out and looks beautiful.
    Grade : A-

Power - The G43 does not use it's own power source, but instead is connected to a box mod rda in it's current version. With the mod, once configured, it works like a charm on unprotected 18650 batteries. I personally love the adjustable nature of the box mod, but I'm interested to see how the new (original vision) version of a protected battery in a holder works.
    Grade : A

Cleaning - Cleaning is basic for the most part. There really are three cleanings I personally would do on the G43; a simple brush-out and perhaps a blast of canned air, a wipe-out with a q-tip of ISO after the former, or an upright soak in ISO. The REAL deep clean is to take it apart, clean all the parts, then re-assemble, but I've had my OG since January or so and it's never been anywhere near dirty enough to require this.
    Grade : B+

Usage - Heat-soak for 4 minutes. Insert into your vaping rig of choice. Inhale. Good times :)
The most difficult part of the current iteration is the mod configuration, and if you buy one from Bud he does it for you! If you've never messed with a mod at all (I hadn't) it seems a little overwhelming (but isn't). The updated version with the battery sled completely eliminates this setup and turns it into plug n play, so I'm very interested to try that. The only downside here is that the small middle portion of the glass slide containing all the glass balls gets hotter than satan's asshole after eating a Carolina Reaper while vacationing on the surface of the sun. It's a very small portion, but it does require minding if you don't want to change your fingerprints for a couple days. For concentrates, a healthstone that fits is needed (Bud sells them at a great price). Using this method you can do double-deckers of flower and concentrate in the same load. KILLER!
    Grade : A-

This is seriously such an amazing vape, and it's only $99 (plus the mod and rig if you don't have em). Even with the added cost of a mod and rig ($30 for the mod, $30 for a DHGate rig), $160 out the door is a crazy good price. $10 on top of that to do concentrates in it? I can't think of one other vape that can do all this stuff at this price point. It's extremely versatile, looks cool, and hits like a truck. If you're lucky enough to get ahold of two of em, DO IT! This is one of those vapes that absolutely everyone should try at some point. I'll leave you with a few shots.

Hey guys question? I got my p80 with the g43. I know wanted to see if I could use the mod on a mistvape impcognito without messing up the g43, like is there a way to set up a different profile on it while leaving all the g43 stuff alone or is this not really
  • G43 by VapeCritic

I have been so clumsy with this. I dropped it and the atomizer read "no atomizer" I got it to read and started the mod up and it again read "no atomizer" one of you told me to make sure and adjust the tightness of the atomizer. that didn't make a difference. I don't mind buying another if I need to but anyone know if I need to? I'm wanting to make a purchase to update my G43 accessories and want to get another atomizer added to the order if need be. I am dying to try my G43. !!

I know that not everyone likes whips but hookah whips look like you can fit the g43 to them and use it that way.Dr green thumb

I would never put a G43 on a whip and use it....you are asking for problems and harsh vapor!

Because it has no stand or way to be held but your hand.......you will most likely burn yourself on the first use with a G43 .......and imagine what can happen after the first few draws when you get.....lifted... and do not have that same sense of reality......lol

The G43 rocks! I've been experimenting with the VapeXhale Cloud Evo Easy Load Bowl in the G43. It fits well enough. Even though the ELB extends outside of the G43, herb is still contained in the glass portion due to the thickness of the end cap. I like that I can take the basket out to stretch out a session. for stirring, and cleanup. Anybody else doing this?
  • G43 by VapeCritic

I own both, and you're right that they're very different animals. Below is all IMO:

LB Elite has a crazy fast heat up, but it is difficult to not get hot spots (at least on mine). I feel like the Elite is much better suited for people who want to run a small to medium load and don't want to mess around. Its a very cool vape.

G43 is better suited to a session, but can handle a range of flower amounts. Elite can hold about the same if you adjust the screen, but I've not been very consistent like that in it. G43 is a set it and forget it cloud monster.

While they both may be capable of similar things, the G43 imo is an easier animal to get amazing results out of consistently. If you get the option to try both, please do!

Got my G43 yesterday and she is a champ. Was doing my loading wrong on my first bowl but by bowl three realized my bone head move. Wattage I had to to 16w to get a nice brown avb but when I changed my loading I could go down to 13w.

This g43 design is a cloud machine that brings awesome flavor with its clouds. Love the restriction free air flow so refreshing that the feeling of drinking through a straw.

@chlorophyman I am using the one Bud is selling with the g43. The P80 I believe. Mods are kinda new to me so still getting grasp of the different models available.

Mine came with a screen installed so I put the load in and put the second screen with a rim on the first screen with a rim and sandwich the two. I think the material was to far from the g43 heat thus, the need for higher wattage.

    , thanks! you're the man!!
Just to confirm, you're running myevic not arcticfox right? You have the cruise function??

"arcticfox installer" is what's throwing me off, it's the first I've heard of an arcticfox installer for myevic but then again this is getting somewhat confusing to me.

My understanding was you would only use arcticfox if you have a mod not compatible with myevic. And Arcticfox is a completely different firmware that does not have the cruise feature.

My info is from the instructions bud posted for installing the firmwares (top of page 3 in the G43 thread): https://forum.vapelife.com/discussion/4306/the-g43-vaporizer-official-thread/p3

Hiya, regarding the GEN3D/P80 mods, if you edit the main screen to show the board temperature (double click from main screen), you can monitor the temperature of the mod (not the G43) while in use.

I find that with the GEN3D using either firmware, the temp rises very quickly and within 10 minutes is at 70°C which is the highest the default settings will allow the mod to operate at. You can change this 70°C to a higher value but I can feel the mod is so hot that It probably wouldn't be a good idea to allow it to get any hotter. It really does need to switch itself off.

With the P80 even after 15 minutes of use the board temperature only reaches about 45°C. It also only feels mildly warm compared to the hot GEN3D. So the GEN3D really is overheating, not just thinking that it's overheating.

I'd like to get the GEN3D working with the G43, is anyone doing so successfully without the mod itself getting so hot?

On a separate note, I'm using a 3500mAh/10A battery in the P80 and find it works well and will provide 3 sessions before it needs replacing.

    Cheers!

    @BobCat

Obviously, this video was not meant for you to watch. I have posted it here because practically all users of the G43 have no idea how to deal with the whole LiON issue, as they have no experience vaping using an e-cig mod.

So instead of making a few random statements, I just figured that an entire video on battery safety would be appreciated by the larger G43 community.

It's also a lot less boring to watch a video than to see two know-it-alls argue over a forum that's supposed to present the issues for discussion, not fight over common sense safety.

I will refrain from posting in the future, as safety does not seem to be very popular. I am not saying no-one knows how to vape, I am saying that most people do not use an e-cig mod, and they might like to know how to keep safe and extend the life of their batteries at the same time.
  • G43 Aftermarket Accessories?

    Some cool stands?VapeCritic

To me, number one is some sort of stand with a slot so you can sit the G43 with the oven up for loading....and if done right, can also be used to just put the G43 down between hits.

I agree with this assessment. Some sort of cover for the beaded section would be great too.

yeah i just mentioned the EVO ELB because of @zancru , and to give an example on how the G43 could be a better unit at cleaning and easy load (multiple ELB just waiting to get inside the G43) sounds porn almost    , using something already made would be great especially for us EVO users that have already ELBs but a custom made ELB could be a solution for the existing Gs, i would love a V2 that could get a normal ELB and a smaller one for micro dosing, maybe a bigger chamber with the 18mm? Dont know how much $$$ would add up to custom made the glassware. #vapelifeG43brainstorming
