I haven’t tried the shatterizer but I have used shatter in the Sai and Sequoia. When using either of those I like it with the ceramic bucket and the Poseidon. Now there’s something else on my list to try.
Look into the HVT SAI or Sequoia. The new Sequoia accepts the SIA coils. Check out their stuff. I really like my Sequoia. Not quite as portable as my Line Blaze but the performance is head and shoulders above the Linx.
So, I was using the triple quartz for some rosin and the effects were decent. Yesterday, I tried them out with a tiny speck of Cherry Diesel shatter. What a huge difference, the effects were overwhelming. The sequoia is a winner in my book. I might order the Sai as well. Just to have a backup.
Edit: and now I’m having second thoughts given the recent news stories about mods. I realize some of the people are using mech mods but still...
I plan to buy a few TI buckets when HVT has their next sale. I really like the quartz buckets. Once I dialed the mod in for the quartz bucket it has been my main portable vape. I like how easy it is to clean on the go. Simply wipe it out with a qtip after each session and it stays perfectly clean.
I followed HVT’s recommended settings for the triple Ti quartz. The hits were smooth. Effects weren’t as strong as I expected but with some tweaking I’m sure I’ll get there. Vapor production ranged from “not much” to quite a bit. Could have been my rosin.
I’m going to try the quartz bucket next and then the Ti bucket.
I’m happy I bought this. It beats any pen. The Poseidon smoothed the vapor out a bit too. I’m not sure how this setup compares to the Peak or that Dr. Dabber thing but once my settings are dialed in for each coil I’ll bet it might be close or even better. I’m coming from mostly using carts, cheap pens, and flower. My experience with dabs on my Vrod is minimal.
I consider this to be a portable home vape. If I ever need to carry I’ll just use my carts or the Blaze.
It sounds like you are off to a good start! I found HVT’s suggested settings to be too hot. I have a quartz bucket coil. I run in TC mode 25W and 425-435F. Seems to be my sweet spot. Provides great vapor, clouds, and flavor. If I go higher with W or F the material burns and the flavor degrades quickly. Best of luck!
So, I have the VooPoo Drag 2. Will give it a test run with the Sequoia this week. I’m going to try the Ti bucket first with some of the suggested settings listed at HVT’s site. If anyone has their own suggestions please let me know.
Are there any updates to the Ti bucket pooling issues? Maybe people were holding it to the side / tilted? I’m wondering if I should just switch to the Saii if possible at this point just to avoid the prob all together. It would probably be big enough for me anyway.
I read that some of the XXL Source Vapes buckets will work with the Sequoia. Woulc they be any different? There’s a SiC dish that might work. Maybe the Source Vape’s buckets would work better than the Sequoia Ti Buckst.
How much does the newer chipset on the Espion enhance the overall experience?
There’s a local shop here that sells the Sequoia kits but I think they have the VooPoo boxes. I like to support the shop because the owners were instrumental in some of the changes to the laws around these parts. However, if there’s a big difference between the two I’d just buy online.
The Mighty has also been a daily driver for me over the past few years. This seems small compared to that.
The only difference between the two is the Sai is 22mm coils and the Sequoia is a 25mm coil. Simply put the Sequoia is slight larger diameter. The Sequoia is best for atop Air flow which is required for their bucket coils. Vic said the new Sequoia will accept coils from the Sai.
Think of the Sai and Sequoia as a chassis and the coils would be the engine. You can put whichever coil you would like in their respective housing units. The only difference being their size.
A premium kit would be a Titanium Sequoia Top Air flow kit with a quartz bucket coil. I would recommend buying at least one or two replacement coils. I have not tried the titanium but it will be my next purchase. I’m going to place an order on 4/20.
I’ve seen mixed info about max wattage being 23W and somewhere else I saw suggested settings for 50W at 500F. So I’m not so sure what’s likely to yield better vapor production/flavor and am wondering what others are liking best.
Right now I’m using TC-Ni/24W/400F with resistance at .5 locked. Not bad results, somewhat whispy...but I’m curious if it’s safe/worth it to up the wattage? Will flavor be affected too negatively? Will it ruin the coil?
Ya it's a very common thing so it's odd some people here are not having it.
The Ti works great, and I use it the most. I'm currently using the Carta by Focus V on the Ti and loving it but it runs hot still. Waiting on the app to be released. And the new atomizer to fix the leaking quartz cup there too. Leaky quartz cups everywhere!!
I noticed that mine leaked too. I have only used it at home at my work bench so it has never been inverted. The top is screwed down tight. No clue how so much leaked down under the bucket. This is a buzz kill. I had high hopes for this coil.
What are the thoughts on the TI buckets? Taste, cleaning, etc.
